Privacy Policy

Effective 21 September 2026. This page is the Privacy Policy URL for our apps in App Store Connect, and it applies to Capture Snagging & Walk-Downs, Capture Log, Capture Planning, Capture Economy, Capture Record, StackStore Family and Libellus.

In short: your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud account. We run no servers, we do not collect or sell your data, we show no advertising, and we use no third-party tracking or analytics. AI features run on your device using Apple's own frameworks.

1. Who we are

Zulu Zebra Zoftware (“we”, “us”) is an independent developer that publishes apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Contact: support@zuluzebrazoftware.eu.

2. What data we process

Our apps are tools in which you enter your own content. We minimise the collection of personal data and we have no back-end that receives it.

2.1 Your content

  • Text and fields you create in the app (projects, findings, log entries, documents, financial records, and similar).
  • Photos and files, if you choose to add them (camera or photo library).
  • Location data, only if you actively grant permission, and only while the app is in use.
  • Audio you record for meeting or voice capture, which is transcribed on-device.

2.2 Device data

The apps process technical information needed to function (for example your settings, language and local diagnostics). This information stays on your device.

3. How your data is stored

By default, your data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud, your data is synchronised through your own Apple iCloud account (CloudKit) in your private zone. We never receive a copy — we operate no servers and have no access to your content.

4. On-device intelligence

Where our apps offer AI features (such as meeting summaries, suggestions, text recognition or classification), they use Apple’s on-device frameworks — for example Apple Speech, Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models, Vision, PDFKit and NaturalLanguage. Your content is not sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any other third-party AI service.

5. Third parties

Depending on the app and your choices, only the following Apple services are involved:

  • Apple iCloud / CloudKit — for optional sync and sharing. Data stays in your iCloud account under Apple’s terms.
  • Apple StoreKit — for in-app purchases and subscriptions. Apple handles all payment; we never see your card details.

We do not use advertising, ad tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs. Our apps declare NSPrivacyTracking = false.

6. Purpose

  • To provide the app’s features (capture, overview, reporting, export and sync).
  • To provide support and troubleshooting if you contact us.
  • To offer optional in-app purchases.

7. Retention

Your data is kept as long as you keep the app installed. With iCloud, data remains in your iCloud until you delete it there or turn off sync. You can export or back up your data at any time from within the app.

8. Your rights

You can typically delete your data directly in the app or by uninstalling it. For data requests (access, deletion, export), see Privacy Choices or email us.

9. International transfers

Sync and purchases rely on Apple services, which may process data in accordance with Apple’s own policies and transfer mechanisms. We do not transfer your content to any other party.

10. Security

We rely on Apple’s platform security and iCloud encryption, and design our apps to keep your data on-device or in your private iCloud. No method is 100% secure, but we work to minimise risk.

11. Children and young people

Our work apps are made for adults and are not directed at children. Libellus is different: it is a notebook made for students aged 13 and over as well as adults, and it is rated accordingly on the App Store. It is not a Kids Category app, it contains no advertising, and it collects nothing about the person using it — everything a student writes stays on their device and in their own iCloud. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.

12. Libellus — what the app can reach

Libellus is a notebook, so it touches more of the device than the other apps. Every one of these is optional, is asked for the first time a feature needs it, and can be withdrawn in iOS or macOS Settings at any time:

  • Microphone — to dictate a note, and to record a lesson or a meeting onto a page. Recording never starts on its own: it begins only when the record button on a page is pressed, and while it runs a Live Activity on the Lock Screen shows the elapsed time and a Stop button, so it is always visible that the microphone is in use.
  • Speech recognition — dictation and transcription run on the device. No audio and no transcript is sent to us or to anyone else.
  • Camera and Photos — to photograph the board, scan a handout, or place a picture on a page.
  • Calendars — only if you connect one. You choose which calendars are read.
  • Calendar subscriptions — you may add a school timetable or club calendar by its public iCal or webcal link (Aula, WebUntis, Wilma, itslearning and the like). Libellus fetches that address directly from your device to read the events. The people who run that calendar can see the request, as they would for any calendar app. We never see it.
  • Face ID / Touch ID — to lock a tab. The biometric check is performed by iOS; Libellus only receives a yes or a no, and never any biometric data.
  • Family lists — if you share a list with your family, that list is stored in a shared area of your own iCloud and is visible only to the people you invite. We have no access to it.
  • Apple Intelligence — on devices that support it, the writing and study helpers run on the device. On other devices those helpers are simply unavailable; nothing is sent to a server instead.

13. In-app purchases

Some apps offer a paid Pro version. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see your payment details, and we receive no personal information from Apple beyond whether a purchase is active on your Apple ID.

14. Changes

If our practices change, we will update this page and provide a new effective date.
